And they do so year after year, without any help from us, and in spite of the constant humiliation we subject them to. From 2016 to 2019, the average annual remittance (Jan-Dec) flow was USD 15.25 billion. In 2020, it rose to USD 21.7 billion. For the first four months of the current year (January to April 2021), we have so far received USD 7.7 billion.
